Message on Morocco Earthquake

September 10, 2023

As the death toll from the devastating earthquake in Morocco continues torise and as we learn more about the destruction of homes, neighborhoods, and historic landmarks, our thoughts are with our Moroccan students, faculty, scholars, staff, and alumni and others who have deep ties to Morocco.

We have been in touch with our Moroccan students and scholars and can confirm that no current students or scholars were in the country at the time of the earthquake.

Our hearts are with those affected by this earthquake and by other recent events, including the catastrophic fires in Maui. It is never easy to be far from the people and places we love, and it is especially difficult in times of crisis. Assistance is available through the departments and links below.

A vigil will be held on Monday, September 18 at 7:00 p.m. in front of the Women’s Table on Cross Campus.
